GOPB houses several resources that can help agencies as they streamline services to better serve Utahns.
Through efficiency evaluations, performance measures, the Customer Experience initiative, and the EPIC collaborative, GOPB has several avenues through which we facilitate statewide governmental efficiency.
In addition to these, the state's budget process has standardized operations in place to ensure that all budget requests and recommendations are reviewed by agencies, GOPB, the Lt. Gov., the Gov., Legislative Subcommittees, EAC, and the Gov. again before being passed. The state also has many mechanisms in place to ensure continuous oversight over budget operations and implementation, with audits from the Office of the Legislative Auditor General and the State Auditor, as well as accountable base budget review from the Office of the Legislative Fiscal Analyst.
