Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Tyler Cain is a proud University of Utah alumna, where she double majored in urban planning and health, society, and policy. Following a strategic planning internship in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Department of Health in Human Services, she joined the Office of Governor Gary R. Herbert as a Constituent Services Specialist.

She then served as the Executive Assistant to Spencer J. Cox while pursuing dual master’s certificates in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and statistics through the University of Utah. The concurrent completion of an internship through the Utah Data Research Center emboldened her passion for data-driven decision-making and innovative government. She holds a certification in full-stack web development and is a certified associate in project management.

Tyler provides budget and policy support to the Department of Veterans and Military Affairs, the Utah National Guard, the Department of Workforce Services, Medicaid-related programs, and the State Homeless Services Office. She also manages the office’s emergency preparedness plan.

In her free time, Tyler enjoys reading, running, camping, and eating peanut butter straight from the jar while watching National Geographic.
